THIS IS Æ MAK

Wholly individual and constantly forward-looking, Æ MAK's otherworldly soundscape, creative visuals, and punk-esque energy conceives a bewitching live act. With tribal rhythms, soaring synths and lush vocal harmonies the result is a holistic performance style that transports audiences to another realm.

2017 saw the band bring their distinctive performances to highly receptive audiences at a number of acclaimed Irish festivals including Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, Other Voices, Another Love Story and Hard Working Class Heroes; At their own headline shows throughout the country; Supporting likeminded songstresses Warpaint and making their UK debut at Liverpool Sound City.

Having taken the latter part of the year to compose a powerful cannon of genre defying material, Æ MAK will embark on a new journey in 2018, unveiling a refreshingly unique artistic vision.

Refusing to be pigeonholed, Æ MAK are simply pop at it's best.

Æ MAK at HARD WORKING CLASS HEROES

Aoife McCann is the Dundalk songwriter behind dynamic avant-pop band Æ MAK. With tribal rhythms overlaid by ethereal vocals and accompanied by a creative visual aesthetic, Æ MAK are an exciting prospect on the Irish music scene. Their debut EP 'I Can Feel it in My Bones' was released last year and is a deliciously fun slice of addictive jungle pop. This year saw the release of their second single 'I Walk', a bewitching soundscape featuring soaring percussive vocals. Having undergone a recent line-up change, Æ MAK are back and ready to present their multifaceted, bewitching live show at Hard Working Class Heroes 2017.
